We are just days away from taking part in our first event of a busy Autumn show schedule. The Great London Yarn Crawl takes place this Saturday 5 September and new for this year is the addition of a pop-up marketplace at the beautiful Chelsea Old Town Hall. You will be able to find Pom Pom at stand number 15 in the marketplace, neighbouring some of our favourite woolly friends including Fiona Alice, Leelee Tea, and Elisabeth Beverley! Plus some of our Issue 14 yarn producers Midwinter Yarns, John Arbon Textiles, and Baa Ram Ewe. We’ll have our latest edition, The Wool Issue, as well as back issues 9 through 13, tote bags, badges and samples galore!
If you haven’t bought a ticket yet, you can nab one in advance for £8 until 11.59pm on Thursday 3rd September. But don’t worry if you can’t get an advance ticket in time as there will be tickets available on the door (£10). Doors are open to the public 12 noon – 7pm.
If one day of woolly goodness wasn’t enough, as an accompaniment to this year’s Great London Yarn Crawl and Pop-Up Marketplace, Yarn in the City will be hosting knitting designer, author, and technical editor extraordinaire Kate Atherley for two workshops on Sunday, 6th September 2015. Workshops include ‘Introduction to Knitwear Design’ and ‘Pattern Writing Skills’ and tickets are available here. Kate will also be showing samples from her new book ‘Custom Socks Knit to Fit your Feet’ at the Indie Designer Spotlight at the Pop-Up Marketplace happening on Saturday.
After the wet bank holiday weekend just gone we can’t think of a better way to spend the next one, browsing some of the lovely yarn shops London has to offer and topping up our stash of hand dyed yarns by some of the UK’s best artisan producers.
We hope to see you there!
