KOB KAL – SECOND QUARTER ROUND UP!

Our fabulous Knitting Outside the Box Knit Along is running all year! This book has such a wealth of projects and information that we thought 12 months was needed so you could really get your needles stuck in. On the horizon is the end of our second quarter, so get those finished knits posted in our FO thread by 27th May!

This KAL is made possible by our kind sponsors  Julie AsselinBaa Ram EweSincere Sheep, and Sweet Fiber.

Julie Asselin, our headline sponsor for this quarter, has also provided a prize, because with us, a KAL always means there a prizes to be won. Projects posted in our FO thread after 25th February will be included this quarter’s draw for two skeins of  Julie Asselin’s Leizu DK .

Here are some projects that have caught our eye!

Such a glamours knitter! We think she’s channeling some of our model’s poses from the book in this glorious Pina.

All that glitters is gold for this beautiful Harjo!

We’re loving the textured tones in the blue yarn used for this Arbus, such a subtle effect with the graphic pattern.

We love sharing the highs (and sometimes lows) with other knitters on Ravelry and unfortunately, we have a little low to share this post. Baa Ram Ewe are discontinuing their Dovestone DK, as used for Sharman, pictured above (you can read more about the decision on their blog here). The good news is that they have a healthy stock of the colours, so if you’ve had you eye on this for your own Sharman project, now is the time! Or, if you’re stuck for a substitution our KAL chatter thread is a great place to get some inspiration or muse on your WIP with other knitters!

The Knitting Outside the Box samples are also on their travels, and Bristol is joining them too at The Mermaid’s Purl and the Medomak Fiber Arts Retreat! Check the respective LYS and festival websites for more information.

We’ll be back at the end of May to announce our second quarter winner and launch the third quarter!
