Happy New Year Pomcast friends!

We hope you enjoyed the festive season. 2015 is off to a running start for us, with an interview with the inimitable Erika Knight (who also happens to have a wonderful radio voice – it puts ours to shame!), and a giveaway from our fantastic sponsors! That’s right, the wonderful unravel festival have not only sponsored this podcast, they are also offering a prize of 2 tickets to the festival on a day of the winners choosing. An excellent prize indeed. To be in with a chance just comment on this post by the end of Sunday 8th February telling us who you are looking forward to seeing at the festival. Extra points if you tweet, share on Facebook or Instragram! Just let us know that you did in a separate comment.

Be sure to download the Soundcloud app if you want to listen on a mobile device, or if you subscribe to Pomcast on iTunes it should appear on your device now! Hooray!

Tell + Tell

This whole ‘New Year’ thing seems to have really rebooted our knitting! Lydia has completed many projects, including a Sorrel hat from Issue 11, and a mountain moss shawl in a limited edition colourway from The Golden Skein, which will soon be posted on rav! But for now it can be glimpsed in this pic of Lydia knitting said shawl with her family cat Pushkin on her lap. He’s a shawl connoisseur!

cat + knitting = 2015 FTW!!!

Sophie hasn’t cast on anything new, but this hasn’t stopped her! She is working on a Slade cardigan by Michelle Wang for Brooklyn Tweed. Cosy!

Pom Pom will be at unravel festival in Farnham, UK from 20th – 22nd February. And so should you! If you don’t already have tickets you could win some by commenting on this post to tell us who you are looking forward to seeing at the festival (apart from us of course!). And we will also be hosting the international talks! Come and meet us, and hear a great talk and Q&A with Annemor Sundbo and Bristol Ivy, on the Friday and Sunday respectively. Not to be missed! We can’t wait!

Pom Pom Quarterly: Issue 11 - Winter 2014

Bristol Ivy designed the beautiful Fairchild jumper on the cover of our Winter 2014 issue

We took a look at the beautiful Quince & co. book by Pam Allen – Home. Lydia’s faves (and it was very hard to choose) were Paulina and Nelse.  Sophie loved the Maggie cardi, Bergson slipper socks

Would love to have a squish of Plant Dyed wool and would love to see Coop knits as I am loving her new book of socks.

I am really looking forward to the spectacular rainbow of colour that is Easyknits, also nosing around the Habu at addicted2knit and the linen at Namolio. Oh and it is always a pleasure to explore NDS in the flesh.

    Beautiful interview.

I shall be heading over to Textilegarden to survey their amazing selection of buttons, followed by a visit to Elisabeth Beverley to eye up her lovely cashmere and merino yarn. I love anything vintage or upcycled, so will also pay a visit to Susan Crawford Vintage and Creative You. There is a great selection of talks and workshops this year, and am hoping to get to Annemor Sundbø’s talk on knitting traditions in Norway.

I’ve never been before so not sure what I’m going to look forward to! Although hopefully I will enjoy squashing lots of gorgeous balls of yarn, spending my Christmas yarn fund on some soft, mustard yarn for a snood and chatting about all things knitty with lots of lovely people! Splendid!!

I’ve been listening to the pomcast while walking to/from work in snowy canada. We’ve just had a huge dump of snow and listening to chatter about warm knits was just perfect.
    Love you ladies!
