I love the new Roadtrip book, it’s a tough one picking a favourite but if I had to it would be the Old Growth cardigan.

    • tracy October 5, 2014 at 11:32 am #

I love the Old Growth Cardigan

  2. melissa September 29, 2014 at 5:47 pm #

tough decision, but i’d choose either prairie fire for my daughters, or grayling for myself!

  3. Susanne September 29, 2014 at 5:50 pm #

I adore the Old Growth cardigan! I can’t wait to finish grad school in December to get started!

    • Elizabeth Hutton October 3, 2014 at 2:20 pm #

I love them all. First one I will knit is Old Growth.

  4. Asheley September 29, 2014 at 5:53 pm #

My favorite item from “Road Trip” (if I have to choose just one!) would be the grayling mittens. Last winter in Chicago was brutal and my hands spent the greater part of winter in mittens. I would love to make a new pair in a bright color like grasshopper to make it through another winter!!!!

  5. Susanne September 29, 2014 at 5:56 pm #

I tweeted and shared on FB via Instagram! Thanks for the giveaway!

  6. GramPam September 29, 2014 at 5:58 pm #

Love TKC. :) I think Old Growth has to be my favorite in this collection, although Prairie Fire is a very close second!

  7. Christina September 29, 2014 at 6:00 pm #

I love TinCan Knits and their patterns!!!! My current favorite sweater is North Shore. Clayoquot cardigan is gorgeous!

  8. Philam September 29, 2014 at 6:08 pm #

I love the Clayoquot Cardigan. I haven’t knit a colour work project yet and this one would be a great first-time project. Great giveaway!

  9. Stacey September 29, 2014 at 6:22 pm #

i think i would start with the Apple Pie hat, but the Granola socks are a very close second!

  10. Camanoah September 29, 2014 at 6:50 pm #

Love all the patterns, but Clayoquot has my mind spinning with color ideas.

  11. Tina W September 29, 2014 at 7:07 pm #

I absolutely love the Bonfire blanket–I was lucky to be a test knitter for it!

  12. Tamara September 29, 2014 at 7:33 pm #

I love the prairie fire pullover. It looks very nice!

  13. Debra B September 29, 2014 at 7:42 pm #

    I love the Clayoquot toque.

  14. Rachel September 29, 2014 at 7:47 pm #

It’s hard to choose! I think my favorite from Road Trip would be grayling (I’ve been on such a mitten kick), but clayoquot is a close second.

  15. Aimee C September 29, 2014 at 8:09 pm #

My fave is the Old Growth Cardigan – would love to win!

  16. nobutterfly September 29, 2014 at 8:10 pm #

  18. Penny Jenkins September 29, 2014 at 8:19 pm #

I met Emily at Yarndale last Saturday and was wowed by the patterns and yarn on offer. I’d not heard of Tin Can Knits before and came away a big fan. I love the Old Growth pattern and would love to knit that for myself please. It’s great to see that the pattern has sizes from child to adult. I’m a smallish woman and often find that teen sizes fit better than a woman’s small.

  19. Ellen September 29, 2014 at 8:19 pm #

I love that all their designs come in so many sizes. It is hard to chose a favourite, but I’m thinking that everyone on my Christmas list is getting a Stovetop hat.

  20. Stephanie. September 29, 2014 at 8:26 pm #

I have to say I am really torn on this. Road Trip is amazing, just like their many other wonderful pattern collections. But right now I am really digging colour work so I’d have to say Clayoquot just for that.

  21. Charlotte September 29, 2014 at 8:29 pm #

Lots of nice patterns, but I particularly like the look of the Granola socks!

  22. Charlotte September 29, 2014 at 8:39 pm #

I love everything Tin Can Knits does, and this new collection is no exception. I think Old Growth may be my favourite. It’s simple yet super stylish, just what I need in my wardrobe!

  24. Melanie September 29, 2014 at 9:53 pm #

Its a tough decision as they are all lovely designs but my fave has to be Prairie Fire

Beautiful collection! Too difficult to choose between Prarie Fire and Old Growth!

  35. Karin September 30, 2014 at 8:11 am #

Fantastic collection (beautiful settings) and I love the vast number of sizes Tin Can Knits offers. That said, and this is tough, but I’d adore Rivulet for me, me, me as I loves me some fringe! and I would have a blast knitting Clayoquot for my best friend’s little dude. That’s like one favorite right?, one for me and one for a gift?

PS Great episode, wonderful giveaway and the not knowing who Joan Baez is cracked me up, loved that! .

  36. Fen September 30, 2014 at 9:58 am #

I think I wold have to pick all the small people things as I have two new nieces and that means you can knit more stuff quicker – especially love clayoquot and old growth and maybe as a love treat to myself grayling or even be a crazy aunt and be matchy with a clayoquot too – nothing wrong with being a weird aunt….

  41. heather September 30, 2014 at 3:07 pm #

I would love to knit the old growth cardigan. i am knitting a lush cardigan at the moment and the pattern is lovely1

  42. Helen Griffin September 30, 2014 at 3:18 pm #

Definitely, my favourite pattern is Old Growth, but the wonderful thing about TinCanKnits books is that it isn’t just one pattern that catches my eye! They are all gorgeous! I think the first thing I would make is the Viewfinder Cowl, because I have the perfect yarn just waiting for the perfect pattern!

  43. Amy September 30, 2014 at 4:27 pm #

Hard to choose! But really in love with Prairie Fire.

  61. Deborah October 2, 2014 at 12:46 pm #

Love them all. But the first ones I’ll be knitting is the Clayoquot sweater and hats.

  62. Lorna October 2, 2014 at 12:52 pm #

I would choose the Old Growth cardigan pattern. Love an excuse to show off beautiful buttons on this versatile pattern.

  63. sarah October 2, 2014 at 12:53 pm #

I had the pleasure of test knitting the Clayoquot cardigan and loved the colour work. I think the next pattern I would like to make from Road Trip is the Grayling mitten pattern. I’m a huge fan of all their patterns.

  64. Debbie McP October 2, 2014 at 12:53 pm #

Since my daughter just asked for a cabled hat, my eyes immediately went to Stovepipe. There are lots of winners in this collection and thanks for the chance to win! I have been following TCK for a while. Appreciate all their free patterns and tutorials!

Oh, love the sneak peek photos of that location, it looks schmancy (: Love me some TCK, and this new ebook doesn’t disappoint! My favorite sweater is Praire Fire and my favorite instant gratification project is Apple Pie. It really does look like latticed pie crust! Perfect for the season.

  69. Yvonne October 2, 2014 at 1:14 pm #

All of the patterns are beautiful. My fVorite is Clayoquot.

  70. Karen October 2, 2014 at 1:18 pm #

This looks like a wonderful book. I especially like the Old Growth cardigan (I am a big fan of leaves in my knits) and the Bonfire blanket. That one would take a while, but what a gem to own once it was finished.

  71. Cathy Kostka October 2, 2014 at 1:19 pm #

Oh my gosh, it’s so hard to pick a favorite pattern from Road Trip, because I love the all! If I have to pick I’d say Old Growth. Love Tin Can Knit!

  72. Karen October 2, 2014 at 1:20 pm #

This looks like a wonderful book. I’ll putter over to Facebook right now and mention it to everyone there (who looks at my page, anyway). Maybe there will be a whole forest of Old Growth Cardigans in the wild soon!

  75. Melanie October 2, 2014 at 1:44 pm #

This is another beautiful collection from the ladies at Tin Can Knits, so it is tough to pick a favourite. I think I would have to go with Caribou because I love the yoke so much!

  85. matt October 2, 2014 at 2:11 pm #

Id have to say the stovetop hat. I love most everything else, but as a guy, it isn’t something I’d knit for myself.

  86. Debbie October 2, 2014 at 2:16 pm #

I love the road trip book. All the patterns are fantastic but I think prairie fire might be my favorite.

  87. Jennifer October 2, 2014 at 2:33 pm #

I want to knit every blanket Tin Can knits has come up with, but so much yarn goes into a blanket! I’d definitely like to try Clayoquot with some beautiful rainbow colors. I also really like Old Growth,I want to knit that nice leaf!

  88. Bev October 2, 2014 at 2:44 pm #

Wow … what a difficult decision to make. I sort have had a bug lately for lace, so I am probably going to say Viewfinder and it would be so appropriate to wear in our fall/winter here on the west coast of Vancouver. Congratulations on your new book Tin Can Knits …

  89. Erin October 2, 2014 at 2:48 pm #

Oh, WOW! I’d looooove to win that sweater’s worth….I love all Tin Can Knits, and it’s hard to choose – but I’d have to say that I like Apple Pie the best – and Paddle second best. All of Road Trip is pretty awesome, though.

  90. Cheryl October 2, 2014 at 2:55 pm #

I love the clayoquot cardigan, especially with the dark background

  91. TrishKnits October 2, 2014 at 2:55 pm #

  102. Katherine October 2, 2014 at 3:36 pm #

I test knit the Caribou Cardigan and Lumberjack mitts, both of which I truly enjoyed. I would love to knit the Clayquot Cardigan next! What a great collection of wearable designs!!

  103. Ashley October 2, 2014 at 3:37 pm #

I have loved TCK patterns since I saw them during the BC Yarn Harvest and fell in love with the little booties and the sweaters and the hats! I’m a sucker for a good hat, especially ones that the men ask for their birthday/xmas gifts!
That’s why I love the Clayoquot Toque! Any colour they want (including all manners of black), something interesting for me while knitting and a gift they wear until it’s felted into their ski helmet!

  107. SoozB October 2, 2014 at 4:06 pm #

Hmm, toss-up between Grayling and Apple Pie. So many nice patterns.

  108. Beverly October 2, 2014 at 4:17 pm #

  109. Andrea B October 2, 2014 at 4:20 pm #

    I’d go with Prairie Fire

  110. miss agnes October 2, 2014 at 4:39 pm #

Tin Can Knits collections are always superb. There are a number of patterns I would love to do, but the first that jumps at me is the Apple Pie hat. And I have the very yarn to go with the pattern, a beautiful yellow Malabrigo.
This is a fantastic giveaway, thanks for organizing it.

  111. Selina October 2, 2014 at 4:41 pm #

Love bonfire but I would have to make three to avoid any jealousy, one for hubby, one for me and one for my cat that loves to snuggle under a blanket in winter!

  112. Mary Maarse October 2, 2014 at 5:18 pm #

That’s not easy but I think the first item I would like to make would be the Old Growth Forest cardigan.
I love the pattern. A great book!

  113. Sara October 2, 2014 at 5:18 pm #

All the patterns are amazing, but if I have to choose only one, I would choose to knit the prairie fire, for myself! Thank for the opportunity to win!

I am so excited to see Stovetop published in a whole collection of beautiful cabled things! I’ve already knit up one of those wee toques, so my other favourite would have to be the grayling mittens. Can’t have warm enough hands!

  116. Erika October 2, 2014 at 5:30 pm #

I love the collection and find myself torn between Prairie Fire and Old Growth. Prairie Fire edging out a win though! I’m looking forward to getting my Christmas knitting complete and starting in some projects from the Road Trip collection. Thank you for a great contest

  117. eleyne October 2, 2014 at 5:41 pm #

I’m having a small ongoing stranded knitting obsession right now, so clayoquot (cardigan, but also the hat!) is calling to me.

  118. Debi October 2, 2014 at 5:56 pm #

Wow, so hard to choose just one pattern from this book, but I think the first one I want to make is Old Growth…love it! Thanks for the opportunity to play! :)

  119. Marilynn Hart October 2, 2014 at 6:06 pm #

This was a tough call, but I am loving the Stovetop hat! I’d love to make matching hats for my son, my husband and myself. Thank you for the chance to win.

  126. Jessica Powers October 2, 2014 at 7:53 pm #

Yay, more PomCast! TCK’s newest collection is lovely, everytime I look at the patterns Grayling jumps out and I get confused by what color would I knit it in, haha, such a hard life problem!

  127. kristine October 2, 2014 at 8:05 pm #

I love the Prairie Fire pattern and really look forward to knitting it at some point. Even better in Rainbow Heirloom yarn, thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

  130. Claire October 2, 2014 at 8:28 pm #

I love Apple Pie. It looks so squishy. And I want a whole wardrobe in that Wicked Pacific colorway.

  131. Elizabeth October 2, 2014 at 8:46 pm #

Touch picking a favorite, but I really love Viewfinder. These collections are my favorites!

  134. Melinda October 2, 2014 at 9:25 pm #

  137. Katie Lynn October 2, 2014 at 10:24 pm #

I think my favorite has to be Old Growth. I really love the asymmetrical closure, and the wee little lace tree.

  141. Tanya October 3, 2014 at 12:49 am #

I am loving all of the patterns, but the one I can’t wait to cast on for is the viewfinder. The bonfire is a very close second.

  142. Lisa S October 3, 2014 at 1:27 am #

I love tin can knits patterns! I’ve been looking for a blanket pattern and Bonfire fits the bill perfectly! I need a nice snuggly blanket to cover my lap as I need late into the evenings. I’ll definitely be purchasing this pattern.

So hard to choose, but I think old growth is my favorite! Love all of them though!

  144. yarnpiggy October 3, 2014 at 2:00 am #

So many lovelies to choose from, as you’d expect from a Tin Can Knits collection. Hard to choose just one, but I think Grayling would probably be the first one I’d knit for myself, and Prairie Fire for my nieces.

  145. Danielle October 3, 2014 at 2:31 am #

I love the Clayoquot sweater, both child and adult sizes. Love your yarn also!

  146. Lia October 3, 2014 at 3:31 am #

  155. Dee H October 3, 2014 at 7:25 am #

Love the patterns in ‘Road Trip’, I had a look at the book at Yarndale last week. I would choose the Caribou cardigan first, love the fact that it has all ages and is suitable for boys and girls!

  161. Corinne October 3, 2014 at 11:00 am #

What a very tough choice! I love all of the patterns. The first one I am going to knit is Paddle, because that will be a quick knit. I was so impressed from the book that when I looked at the photos I had to book our summer holidays, so we will fly from Switzerland to Vancouver and follow the road trip.

  162. [email protected] October 3, 2014 at 11:00 am #

My favourite pattern has to be the Rivulet shawl. I love a good tassel, especially on a shawl!

  163. Lauren October 3, 2014 at 11:01 am #

Love, love, love the Old Growth Cardi!

  164. Alexandra SEBASTIEN October 3, 2014 at 11:27 am #

I just love prairie fire! I’m seriously thinking about casting it on soon :)

  165. Michelle Chua October 3, 2014 at 11:27 am #

Grrrrrrrgh (in a nice, frustrating way)…they are all so good. I am into knitting for Mother/child sets, so this new Road Trip book thrills me to bits. However, for this time, I will have to vote for BONFIRE. Not for myself, but for my daughter, who had absent mindedly mentioned that it would be nice if she has a cable throw. I missed her very much as she has gone out flatting, so I think knitting this throw would be good therapy for me. Road Trip will keep me busy with many happy knits for sure.

  166. Alexandra SEBASTIEN October 3, 2014 at 11:31 am #

And I just shared on FB with my knitting friends :)

  167. Julie T. October 3, 2014 at 11:51 am #

  171. Fiona October 3, 2014 at 12:07 pm #

I love the clean lines of Old Growth and would like to knit it in a deep shade of orangey-red, just right for autumn.

  172. Sarah Sales October 3, 2014 at 12:24 pm #

I love lots of the patterns in Roadtrip. I think Caribou is my favorite sweater, the neckline is so pretty. However I am not the most proficient sweater knitter. But I do love to knit hats – so I’m thinking an Apple Pie and a Stovetop will be on my Fall knitting list.

  192. Heather L October 3, 2014 at 1:33 pm #

It’s a tough choice but clayoquot cardigan is my favourite.

I love Clayoquot cardi because it’s in fair isle and it conjures up fond memories of the west coast for me. My parents lived there for 32 years. It also connects to my Finnish roots. Tin Can Knits has great stuff!

  205. Aggie R. October 3, 2014 at 2:12 pm #

  236. Sam Madrus October 3, 2014 at 4:14 pm #

I remember when Alexa was swatching for Old Growth. I knew there would be a tree, but she was totally tight lipped about what she was doing. From that moment, I was hooked on it. As soon as this was released, I am now OVER THE MOON in love with Old Growth. The ability to knit it up in Rainbow Heirloom yarn would be a real treat indeed!

  255. I'd knit that October 3, 2014 at 5:06 pm #

Clayoquat sweater! I just love all of Alex’s and Emily’s designs.

  256. Raquel Garcia October 3, 2014 at 5:25 pm #

If I had to choose just one pattern, it would have to be Clayoquot Cardigan with Old Growth a close second, thanks for the giveaway

  257. mel October 3, 2014 at 5:32 pm #

I like a lot of the patterns in roadtrip, but I think the first I would knit would be the granola socks, love them!

  258. Gaile October 3, 2014 at 5:33 pm #

Definitely the Clayoquot designs (toque AND cardigans). All the patterns are beautiful and if I had more time or was a faster knitter I would knit everything, but I plan on knitting the Clayoquot toque first before moving on to the sweater. This is a lovely giveaway.

  259. gail October 3, 2014 at 5:38 pm #

Its a toss up between old growth and bonfire! Thanks for the contest!

  260. Carmen October 3, 2014 at 5:42 pm #

I would love to make an Old Growth for my daughter and granddaughter. I made an Antler and it was a great knit!

I love them all, but Old Growth is my first choice.

  262. Elizabeth Sames October 3, 2014 at 5:50 pm #

My favorite pattern from this book is Old Growth (so elegant yet so versatile) but I have a feeling I’m going to be knitting several from this book. If by some glorious chance I should win the book, I will give it to my knitting niece because I can’t wait until the end of the contest to get my own hands on the book. Love it!

  263. Marie Mtl October 3, 2014 at 5:54 pm #

I would knit the granola socks, the beautiful lace pattern reminds me of ears of wheat. I would wear them while trying to not think about my one attempt at making home made granola. Not a success…let’s hope the socks turn out better!

I’d love to knit the clayoquot card!

My newest JOY is stranded colour work so, as difficult as it is to choose one favourite pattern, I’d have to settle on Clayoquot. One day I hope to travel into that region of our wild and wonderful west coast. Thanks for another book of great inspiration!
