We’re getting 2016 off to an amazing start, what with our new spring issue coming out in a few weeks and some super exciting news we’ve been keeping under wraps for far too long! In our new capacity as the Pom Pom Press (you may have seen the first book we published, by Fiona Alice, here), we are now publishing the Interpretations series of collections by none other than Joji Locatelli and Veera Välimäki!
We don’t think this dream team need much of an introduction, but just in case you’ve been living under a knitted rock, Joji and Veera are two of our (and it would appear, the world’s) favourite knitting designers. From Joji’s instant classic Boxy sweater, to the shawl-to-end-all-shawls Colour Affection by Veera, chances are either you, or someone you know has knit one of their gorgeous patterns. So when the opportunity came along to publish their collaborative collections, Interpretations, in print, we veritably jumped at the chance.
We’ll be publishing their two existing volumes, in addition to launching their newest third instalment next month and we couldn’t be more excited! (We of course already know what you can expect from the third volume, and boy is it stunning.) These lovely books are destined to become collectors items, not to mention beautiful resources of patterns that you’re going to want to come back to time and again.
If you happen to be in the UK, you will have the opportunity to have your copies of the book made extra special because Veera will be joining us all the way from Finland at unravel, on hand to sign books at the festival! We will be officially launching the book at unravel, where there are still a few spots left on Veera’s workshop, and we will be hosting a very special live recording of the Pomcast with Veera as our guest! Veera will also have some of the samples from the collections on hand for you to check out.
We always look forward to this fantastic festival, but this year we can’t help but be extra excited about the books and our very special guest! Put it in your calendar now – you won’t want to miss it! And don’t worry – if you can’t make it to the festival, all three volumes of Interpretations will be available for purchase very soon, we promise.
