POM POM PRESENTS – I-CORD BIND OFF

pom-pom-presentsMake sure you’ve got all the essential knitting tricks up your sleeve with the Pom Pom video tutorials! This time we take you through the I-Cord bind off.

An I-Cord creates a tube like edging to your knitting, and a really neat and reversible finish. As a cast off method this is a great way to give weight and definition to the edge of a piece of fabric, you can even use a contrasting colour to really make it pop!

The I-cord bind off is used in Issue 18 to give that professional finish to the neckline of Rocquaine.

And also it’s the go to technique for two of the summer tees from Issue 17, Catchfly and Vaara.

Catchfly by Wencke Lucas - Pom Pom Quarterly, Issue 17: Summer 2016Never tried this cast off before? Once you’ve watched the video you’ll know how easy it is and wonder why you haven’t had a go sooner! I cord? I can!

Thanks again to Blue Sky Fibres for their support and for their beautiful Spud & Chloë.
