Can you believe that the first quarter of our Knitting Outside the Box KAL is over? Do not fear if you are still working on your project, this KAL is running for a whole year!
Each project that was posted on our FO thread before 25th February is included in our random draw. Before we announce the winner, let’s have a look at some of the knits! (Note that not all these projects were posted on our FO thread, and therefore are not counted in the draw).
This knitter with her tweedy version of Yayoi included the drop stitch detail that was at the yoke at the hem too – now that’s knitting outside the box!
We love the project name subpolka gave this – “O’keeffe? O’kay!”
A sunshine yellow Carr!
A Sharman looking stunning in teal.
A colour-blocked Lillemor with a speckled yarn eyelet detail – genius!
These classic cables of Pina haven’t left us feeling blue…
And another Pina! This knitter’s KAL future is so bright she has has to wear shades.
This Wislawa cowl looks so squishy and soft!
And now drum roll please as we announce our winner of First Quarter! Out of the hat was post number two – so congratulations to ciakate! You’ve won 5 skeins of Baa Ram Ewe’s Dovestone DK in the beautiful shade Goathland, (perfect for Sharman) along with a bottle of their Yorkshire-made Woolly Wash.
Now sees the start of the second quarter and a prize from Julie Asselin up for grabs. Enter by posting in the same FO thread and we’ll pick a winner from this next date chunk of Sunday 26th February to Sunday 27th May.
Meanwhile, in the world of Knitting Outside the Box, you may have been lucky enough to meet the lady herself! Bristol Ivy was just at Stitches West at the Sincere Sheep booth, signing copies and squishing swatches for the Jemison cowl, which are pictured at the start of this blog post.
You’ll be able to see the samples from the book at Four Purls, Florida, US where Bristol is also teaching this weekend 2nd – 3rd March, and then with the Pom Pom team at Edinburgh Yarn Festival 15th – 17th March. Not only can you see the original Sharman sample at the PPQ booth (G8) but if you stop by Baa Ram Ewe’s stand you can try on their version, plus the three new Dovestone shades which would all look gorgeous knitted up as a Sharman Cocoon!
We’ll have more news about the knit along coming soon, but for now, happy knitting!
