Bristol with copies of Knitting Outside the Box at Rhinebeck 2017

If you’re anything like us, a browse of Ravelry to see what your fellow knitters are making is an excellent way to pass the time. We’ve been perusing projects from Knitting Outside the Box to bring you some of the ones that have caught our eye now that our knit along is in full swing. Right now, our year long KAL is the ultimate way to join in all the Knitting Outside the Box fun, made possible thanks to our kind sponsors Baa Ram EweJulie AsselinSincere Sheep and Sweet Fiber.

Our headline sponsors for this quarter Baa Ram Ewe have also provided a wonderful prize (check out the end of the post to find out what you could win!) which will be drawn at the end of this first quarter.

Here’s a few KOB KAL knits that have ticked the box for us-

Possibly one of the first garments off the needles after the book’s release, was this silky ice blue Sharman by KettleYarnCo.

The softly variegated yarn used by Pucazlegrada for her Mailou mitts shows off all that clever short row shaping – beautiful! For those of you who have the Mailou mitts in your queue, there are a few gift sets left in our online shop

Keeping things simple is AnnetteK18’s Audre, with those subtle textured stitches and shaping.

AnnetteK18 has been rather prolific and has knitted a stunning monochrome version of the Jemison cowl too.

Psst! Did you see the kits our friends and sponsors Sincere Sheep have for the Jemison cowl? There are nine combinations to choose from which include one skein of their Cormo Sport with two skeins of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool so you can create your own unique Jemison cowl.

Of course, the patterns look great with colourful yarns too! Take this Wislawa cowl by ciakate.

And a gorgeous green version of Carr by loopylil has us thinking of the springtime knits we can start!

Join in the chatter on our KAL forum, and make sure you post a picture of your finished knit by 25th February in our FO group. Our photo tips post from last summer is a great read if you need a hand channeling your inner David Bailey or Annie Leibovitz. We’ll draw a random winner from this forum after the 25th February, who could win 5 skeins of Baa Ram Ewe’s Dovestone DK in the beautiful shade Goathland, along with a bottle of their Yorkshire-made Woolly Wash.

Any trouble shooting or yarny woes? You might find your answer on our Errata page or a helpful hint in our KAL chatter thread.

Looking forward to seeing more knits coming outside of that box!
