Back in December, when the idea of balmy days seemed very far-fetched indeed, we found ourselves in Austin, Texas conjuring up a little spring magic for our Issue 20 photo shoot. Nicole Mlakar was the superstar behind the camera – after working with her for Issue 17 it was great to have her back and part of the team again!

Our shoot location, the Sekrit Theater, is an unique space created by art director Beau Reichert. A myriad of different buildings, dotted with props and items from sets that Reichert has collected gave us the perfect backdrops to explore. Especially the dreamy greenhouse which gave us the showstopping shots of Arrosa and Bombus.

We hope these snaps have got you inspired to take some of your own photos as this weekend we’re running a little Instagram competition!

We’ve teamed up with Miriam Jarrs of Welthase (the designer and dyer behind the Bombus Cardigan pattern and yarn) who is offering one lucky knitter a €50 voucher off the cost of her Bombus kit!

Here’s how to enter –
1. Post a picture of your copy of #PPQ20 on Instagram or current #PPQ WIP – the springier the better!
2. Tag your photo with #springscanonlygetbetter
3. Make sure you are following @pompommag and @welthase

And that’s it! Make sure you post your photo before midnight GMT Sunday 5th March as we’ll be announcing the winner on Monday.
