Our 5th Anniversary celebrations this summer had us thinking back to our beginnings and saw the re-release of our very first issue! We couldn’t resist photographing these beautiful patterns anew for the re-release.
We set up home for the day in Huddle Studio. This stunning open-plan space, with textured brick walls and natural light had plenty of props (and plants) for our photo shoot.
Our wardrobe for the shoot included some of the original clothes from the very first shoot!
Once we had started the day with coffees and teas, our make up artist Lilia got our model Siobahn ready for the camera. Here she is in the new addition to this issue, the Netherton Jumper.
Working her photo magic for this shoot was photographer Juju Vail. That meant Juju’s music choice on the speakers, so the theme of the shoot was country music and lots of it!
Revamping the patterns for Issue 1 meant pairing the knits with new outfits – we particularly love the juicy paring of the Skipworth mitts with a pink coat!
As well as re-knitting the patterns from Issue 1 in new colours and yarns, more sizes were also added. The Wick Lane shawl now also comes in a larger wrap size along with the original.
The reworked Kipper socks use a special Viola Yarns colourway named after the designer (and Pom Pom Editor) Lydia!
We also couldn’t forget the cover star Netherton which now features a cute v-neck shape. Did you know the buttons that feature on the new version were also used on the original? That’s the attention to detail that we strive for!
