This time of year often brings as much travel as it does chilly weather, so here’s our gift to you for the festive season, a portable, cosy, and free pattern!

The Homeward Bound mitts take inspiration from a British stamp called ‘The Station’, adorned with cables mimicking the crossing paths of railway tracks. Ideal for that final train ride home before Christmas, keeping you warm on a cold station platform for the last commute.

Designed for us by Alice Sleight, these mitts are knit in John Arbon Textiles Devonia DK, a beautiful blend of 3 breeds local to the mill – Exmoor Blueface, Devon Bluefaced Leicester and Devon Wensleydale. The perfect mix for great stitch definition and snug mitts.

Thank you, they are beautiful! I love the idea of tracks on the palms of your hands. All the journeys one has taken and the journeys yet to come. I look forward to making them.
