Establish St st Panels
Next row (RS): K to marker, SM, [p1, k1] 6 times, p1, SM, k to end.
Next row (WS): Work all sts as they appear to end.
St st and centre ribbed panel are established for Back of Piece One. Maintain ribbed panel as set, slipping all markers as you pass them.

Front Band
Next row (RS): K26 (26, 28, 30, 30) sts, place locking stitch marker in next st, k107 (119, 129, 141, 153, 167) sts, place locking stitch marker in last st worked, k26 (26, 28, 30, 30).
Next row (WS): Purl.

 

Snowdrift

Gauge: 18 sts & 38 rows = 10 cm / 4” over Brioche Garter stitch on 4 mm needles / US 6 needles , with 1 strand each of yarns A and B held together, after blocking
15 sts & 42 rows = 10 cm / 4” over Garter stitch on 4.5 mm / US 7 needles after blocking (border requires some stretching during blocking)

Use yarns A and B CC held double.

Work in Hat Reversible Columns Pattern for 17.5 cm / 7″ / 32 garter ridges (SHORT version) OR 21.5 cm / 8½” / 37 garter ridges (TALL version), measured from cast-on edge, ending with a round 2.
