Pom Pom <3 Socks

We love us some socks here at PPQ; we love them so much that we’ve put two sock patterns in this issue! And we heart hand-knit socks so very much that we put in a pair with hearts alllllll over them. And just in time for Valentine’s Day! Better yet, they’re called Elske, which is the Norwegian word for love.

Now you may have a sweetheart, you may have a secret crush, you might just love your momma. Regardless, this Valentine’s Day we’re declaring our love for socks and we suggest you do the same. We want you to post a pic of your tootsies all wrapped up in their favourite socks (hand-knit or not, but all the better if they were made with love) on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, our Ravelry group, or wherever you feel comfortable sharing your feet, using the hashtag #valentoes (geddit?). Of course if you can’t choose amongst your many paramours, you can post more than one! Get posting from now throughout Valentine’s Day weekend for a chance to win some excellent prizes from Friday to Sunday. First up is the fabulous Rachel Coopey’s new book CoopKnits Socks Volume II!

Rachel’s book is full of gorgeous ways to show those toes some love, like these babies:

We’ll choose a winner for each day and announce new prizes! So go ahead show us your toes! And don’t forget to hashtag it #valentoes so we can see those feats of feet! (p.s. We’re @pompommag on most social media, so you can find us :))

The Norwegian word for “love” (the noun) is kjærlighet. Elske is the verb “to love” in its dictionary form (infinitive), and is put into an inflected form when used in a sentence, e.g. jeg elsker deg – “I love you”, or jeg elsket ham – “I loved him”.
